Its like I’m running a special on these things! Fractured lateral. Patient came in at 4 pm and we close at 5, so no time to use CEREC for the Guide or Temp. I don’t think I could fit the Ref body in there anyway. Took a scan to aid in placement and figuring out the size of the implant.
One of my attendees at my 101 course told me about a cool technique to get your pilot purchase. Have the patient close down, lean the shank of the drill on the lower teeth and make the purchase. In this case I did not want to bring my drill up and re-direct as the implant had to go in at that angle. Worked pretty nice when you cant do it Guided!
As per the information we got from the CBCT unlike a lot of the cases I like doing, the implant had to be angled in order to stay into the bone. Will need an angled or custom abutment for the final. But you can see we have a nice Gap distance.
Had one of my last Re-Plants and a Zirconia Abutment to match. 3.5 by 16mm for stability. I fixed the indexing as you can see from the next images.
I have been getting spoiled by my temps in CEREC. We tried to re-attached the patient’s old crown and take an impression but it moved so this one was more or less free hand. The gingival margin was apical to the adjacent teeth in the Pre-op and I contoured the temp back, you can see the Zirconia margin on the mid buccal. Funny, but I have another case like this tomorrow.
