Toothless Grinder: 3D Printed Nightguard on a Flipper with CEREC and ExoCAD

Another 3D printed night guard, but this one had a twist to it.  This patient has been missing #9 for 60 years and has always worn a flipper.  He has zero desire to restore it and says he can’t sleep without it.  Obviously needed a night guard so we made one on top of it!  CEREC scan with open bite.  I got lazy and scanned it in Chairside instead of Ortho, and had a lot of occlusal adjustment on delivery. So I’m going back to Ortho for all my night guard scans until we get dual buccal bites.

Scanned the patient with the night guard in and imported into ExoCAD.  Printed on the Asiga Max with their Clear Guard Material.

Getting better at these all the time.  A ton of occlusal adjustment, living and learning!!
