The Hybrid Evolved: 2 Color Printed Hybrid from Evolve Dental at Brighterway!

Here is another charity case at Brighterway that went really well!  Patient had implants done by Dr Joe Mehranfar at Brighterway Live, where you can learn how to do All on 4s, Sinus lifts and basic implants live on patients.  Used Liquid Dam to help stitch the arch and took a pre preparation scan on Trios before I started to capture the bite.

 

This was one of the first cases we did with ExoCAD and was expertly designed by Joshua Jakson over at Evolve.  Evolve can either just design, or design, print and mill for you.  It is always a good idea to check your bite before you send your case.  In this case I literally just exported everything into Meshmixer to check.  Joshua designed the case as a two piece hybrid with the gingival portion printed in pink and the teeth in MFH composite.

We found that all printed Hybrids passed the Sheffield test (screw in one screw and check the contra lateral  side for rocking), however some felt “tight”.  One way around this is to use an expensive “Photogrametry” device like PIC Dental, which is about $50K.  Another is just cementing the ti bases in the mouth.  There is no flash after you wipe them off and we have found no fractures on the 4 arches we have done this on.

 

 

This case was printed on the Cara printer by Kulzer.  The nice thing about this is time savings and cost.  By layering composite, first it takes between 30 mins to an hour, but the composite probably runs you about $50-$100 a case.  This was done for about $10 total.
