I have to admit that with the exception of CEREC Guide 2 I have been out of the beta testing loop! So when I got my Speed Fire and new Practice Lab mill, I was pretty confused to see CEREC Premium on my desktop. What is this strange thing? Its like a hybrid of CEREC chair side and inLab. So I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone on this post. Dhaval Patel challenged me to submit a central and I also have to be honest, I don’t do a lot of single centrals in CEREC. Patient’s old crown on #8 fell off and there was recurrent decay. Cleaned it up and scanned. Note the funny CEREC screens! Very “InLab”ish! My lab guy told me in the model screen to make the prep draw. Not sure if that’s universally accepted but it seems to work really well with my implant crowns. Not sure what the hell the Arch Line is so I skipped over. I assume its for big cases.
More funny screens! The system auto trims your model to just a few teeth for margin finding and the insertion axis is a funny little pole! Moved it around to find the least amount of yellow. Bio Copy with the patient’s old crown.
I’m no James Klim, Todd Ehrlich or Dhaval Patel, but here is the final. My lab guy Jack Mazloumian came out with this cool crown holder that you can order from him go to Facebook and type Level 3 Dental Studio. I tried putty but wax works better. Used Empress Stains as I did not have Vita.
