Free Crown Friday is something that Alien Milling Center will be doing every Friday in 2018!! Last Friday I posted that they would be doing a free crown with their Alien Zirconia and sinter it for you. You need to have either a lab scanner or a chaired cad cam system and a way to design and export in STL. In this case I used ExoCAD. You could then either hand polish or or stain and glaze if you have a furnace. This Friday they will be doing it again, with the code ILoveLabDay. You still have to pay shipping and there is a two day turnaround, so this crown cost me $3.85 I prepped it Thursday and got it Monday! The next weekI think the code will be ILoveAugust! Here is the crown in the three stages. On the far left is the way you get it from Alien. In the middle is just polished, and on the end is stained and glazed. If I would have spent more time I could have gotten out more scratches on the middle one, but I was glazing it anyway.
Here it is in the mouth. Is it perfect? No its still a bit opaque but there are PFMs on either side. Did not need a lot of occlusal adjustment and the contacts were perfect. Cemented with Relyx RRGI. Definitely going to take advantage of this every week at a cost of $3.85 definitely worth it!
