I really like the fact that the Astra EV kit is keyless and have been asked by an number of people to adapt Astra’s guided kit like I did for Implant Direct. So I am happy to announce my prototype guide sleeves fit great and should be getting about 1000 of them in about 2 weeks, I’ll post when they are available in the Digital Enamel Store! #3 and #30 grafted about 2 months ago with MFDBA Cadaver bone and placental membranes. Planned the case in Galileos and Exported both implant positions as one CMG.DXD back in to CEREC 4.5.
We 3D Printed a model just to check the fit and milled both CEREC Guide 2s. We will have 3 sizes of sleeves. Unfortunately the size small sleeve in CEREC Guide 2 is too small, so you can only use Medium and Large guide sleeves. Also the largest guide sleeve is too small to place a 5.4mm implant through the guide, but you can place the 3.8 and 4.3 implant fully guided.
Both implants went really well. One thing I like about the sleeves on Astra is that they engage the cutting end of the drill and guide the drill through the whole length of the drill. We ended up using the V drills for the dense lower bone.
If you are interested we are doing a very hands on CEREC STL printing class in Beverly Hills August 25/26!
