Keep Your CEREC MCXL Cool

Here’s a great way to re-cycle those old files that are taking up space in a drawer somewhere .
It’s important to keep your porcelain block cool during the milling process. Too much heat or stress can create micro-fractures in the block. Your CEREC MCXL milling unit has three water ports per side to clean and reduce heat from the burs while the ceramic is being milled.

 

Each day, when you wake up the MCXL milling unit, press the “PUMP” button to confirm that you have enough water pressure AND………….here’s the cool part…make sure the three water ports on each motor have water directed at the end of the bur. If the water isn’t hitting the target, bust out your endo skills and GENTLY remove the debris from the water port. Be careful that your file is intact and doesn’t separate!
