Here is a case that did not go as planned but we will still end up with a decent result. There patient had an existing implant on 10, fractured bridge from 7 to 9. She came in from out of town so we needed something fast. We made her a temp to use overnight. Although its still in beta, Sirona will soon be working with Burbank dental and other labs to do Optiguides locally, aka DigiGuides. We Scanned the patient at 2 pm on a monday and got the guide tuesday at 10 am!!!
This was a case of me not following my own rules! I usually like implant bridges for multiple units in the anterior, but in this case I know we would be immediately temporizing and I wanted as many implants as I could with her bite. Turns out I could only do 2 implants not 3 but we gave it a try. Weird getting opt guides in a lab box, but the turnaround was awesome!
The fit and feel of the DigiGuide is every bit as accurate as OptiGuides. Pretty easy extractions.
After getting in there I was not happy with my implant position on #9, so I ended up bailing on that and just cut the crown off of 10 and used it in the temporary. We used 2 HA coated Legacy 4s. I like lab processed temps for long term temps so Jack at Level 3 did this one for us. Overall, not the most ideal plan but we will still have a great end result.
