Dude! Who Moved my Implant? Actually it looks like the molar drifted! This case was about 6 months old. I really don’t remember the implant being so distal. Here’s a recap:
Implant planned for cerec guide:
Everything went well in the Surgery:
Implant placed non Guided:
Although closer to the molar than the pre molar due to bone, we have some distance between the implant and the molar.
Patient went away for 6 months, returned, note the position of the molar! A lot closer!
You can see the position exaggerated with the impression coping! Still workable, but not ideal:
Look at the funky stalk on the crown! The abutment is really close to that molar.
In the mouth:
Seated, not a terrible result, but not ideal. Not sure if I will make all my patient wear flippers to stabilize their teeth, but does get you thinking. I have some radiographs, but the post op on the surgery was really foreshortened and angled as the patient has a small mouth.
