Alan Mead from Dental Hacks Nation fame as a running joke about Digital Enamel changing its name to Analog Dentin, so I have two cases this week where we made 3D Printed Analog Models to celebrate the cheese! Implant Direct now has both a line of Scan Bodies and matching analogs that correspond to the gold colored ti bases they sell. Scanned in CEREC and exported as an STL.
Keep in mind that you cannot use Implant Direct’s Scan Posts in ExoCAD yet, just 3Shape, but that is coming soon. Implant Direct’s Analogs are press fit and this was printed on my el cheapo Phrozen Make 3D Printer $1000, on even more el cheapo model resin that’s $50 a L vs $199 plus. Its tough to see but there is a viewing window to verify seating.
The crown was made by Skyler King at Epic Dental Studios from Emax LT. On the top right I tried it with Alien Milling’s $66 version but it did not look as good. Sealed with Flow it ALC and Point 4 composite.
