Break Up Veneers

Don’t tell me the power of one-visit dentistry isn’t real!   This is one of our long-lost patients.  She moved years ago across the country, but never forgot the one-visit restoration we did for her over 10 years ago.

This case was completed in three visits:

1. Earlier in the summer when she came on a whim while visiting family:   Diagnostic.   Images and waxup by me.
2. She returned later in the summer:   5-12
3. Two days later:   3-4 and 13-14

Her chief complaint included cracked ceramics, color, and dull.   My main concern was the health of her tissue.   It had always been inflamed around the restorations.  We discovered that the emergence profile of the prior restorations was very flat and thick.  The after picture was exactly 2 days later after insertion, and her gingiva already looked tremendously better. 

While on the internet, you’ve probably seen full arch proposals of veneers, but that may not be the most efficient way to complete a full veneer case.   Even though we use 2 MCXL milling units, I will break up the veneers in sections.    The flow for the patient and the day just makes it easier, especially with local anesthetic.   It even surprised me, but on day one, we ONLY used 5 carpules of local anesthetic for 5-12.

We broke up the case into three models on day 1.   5 and 6, 11 and 12, and finished the day with 7-10.

On Day 2, we completed two models:  3-4, and 13-14
