Unfortunately people can let their teeth go too long. This was definitely the case in this example. This executive of a software company had hidden her teeth for many years and finally decided to do something about them after a temporary crown fell out. It had been there for years. Did not want to face the dentist she used so many years ago. Plus, too much time had passed to go back, right? She was good at hiding her teeth and therefore her embarrassment.
She had many other things going on dentally that warranted quick treatment, but nothing like the issues with her front teeth. On our first visit, we decided to put this at the top of the list and get it taken care of so she could face her coworkers with dignity. The other items would just have to wait for a while.
During the appointment she made a comment about never having nice-looking teeth. Initially, she just wanted her teeth to match the other dark teeth, but I took a gamble and made her teeth with a lighter shade. It was an average shade, but definitely a change for her. She loved them, and for the first time in many years smiled back at herself in the mirror. It was a touching event for all of us.
A big hug and thank you was delivered right after we delivered her Emax CAD crowns using CEREC and the Omnicam.
“You are quite welcome, ma’am! It was my pleasure!”
