It Just Got Real Up In Here: Immediate Molar with 7mm Legacy 4

Don’t you just love the “Recement Crown” appointment?  It can truly be anything.  In this case the patient fractured a good deal of the clinical crown on #18 plus there is a lesion in the mesial root, so we decided that a little titanium supplement would be best in this case.  I never really know whats going to happen with lower molars, as far as difficulty of the extraction, so I decided to just do this free hand.  Tons of bone BTW.

You know the deal with me by now. We know that our drill will always follow the path of least resistance so by just drilling a hole into the furcation of the tooth and followed by the 2.3/2.8 drills we can stay centered in the furcation.  Then we can remove the roots and complete the drill sequence in this case up to the 5.2 drill and the large crestal bone drill.

 

Love that big ‘ol platform switch on the 7mm Implant.  Grafted and did my little trick with king a hole in the membrane and using the cover screw to hold it down.  And yes, I do need to go back to seamstress school to work on my suturing technique!  Will wait 6 months and restore with a screw retained Emax crown.
