Polychromatic Blocks of CEREC

The polychromatic blocks of CEREC may not be as “strong” as some other materials in our arsenal, but they sure look good when finished.   The polychromatic blocks are feldspathic materials, and have a long clinical record of success.   The blocks of ceramic that have varying layers of chroma and translucency are:

Vita Triluxe

Vita Triluxe Forte

Vita Real Life

Sirona PC

Ivoclar-Vivadent Multiblock

 

As these manufacturers advance the materials, hopefully a polychromatic block will be available in other systems, such as e.max CAD.

 

In this case,  a Vita Triluxe block was selected, as can be seen in the graphic with the three layers.
