They Call Him Flipper: Galileos-DOLPHIN Integration

There are not words to describe the sheer amount I am geeking out right now!  I have been paying around with the new Galileos/Dolphin integration and its just awesome!!!  Currently Dolphin is available through Patterson and if you are a good Patterson customer you can get it for free!  Yes you heard right, the low low price of free!!  You get rebated back over time the cost of the software.  You can do so much its unreal!  You can compare volumes side by side, you can superimpose and segment teeth, skin, bone, and airway!

What first grabs you is the clarity of this Galileos/Dolphin hybrid.  The top two renderings are straight Galileos 1.9.  The lower two are the equivalent scans run through Dolphin.  Its like going from VHS to Blu-Ray.  Whate ven more cool is the amount of various rendering patterns.

There are over 15 different soft and hard tissue renderings.  I like the “Osyrix” looking ones on the top.

Face scan data can be directly imported quite easily and implant can be planned AND manipulated in the 3D view not just the 2D!

The airway is very easily segmented and is separated by volume which can be quantified as well as bone density in Houndsfield units!

This airway segmentation can be carried over to other rendering patterns.

Whats also really cool is that parts of the volume can be trimmed, not just planes but cut out.  Here I removed the patient spinal column, because I’m just medieval like that;}

TMJ stuff is very easily to analyze and we get a traceable panoramic curve not just a trough!!!  This is so awesome and I have not been trained yet!!  Contact your Patterson Territory rep to see if you qualify  for the rebate and you can get your copy!!!  So cool!
