Gold Restoration Fail — Dentsply Celtra Duo Replaces

I understand the affection for gold as a restorative material.  I’ve done many, but I believe that there are many failing gold restorations.   We allow them to stay longer for one simple reason:   the recurrent caries is much harder to see clinically and radiographically.

This is a case where a gold crown had recurrent caries, and it was replaced with Dentsply’s new Celtra Duo CAD/CAM material.
